To ensure the best welfare for our fish, and for all of our guests to have the best experience possible, you are asked to abide by our fishing rules. If you are unsure about anything at all, please ask.
1. Barbless hooks only. 2. Maximum size 8 hooks. 3. No braid whatsoever to be used.
4. Hook length to be used on all rigs – 30%less than mainline.
5. Running rigs only.
6. Site nets and mats only. Handles re not included. you must bring your own.
7. Fish are not to be laid directly on the ground
7. Casting weight 1oz or 30g maximum.
8. No unattended line to be left in the water.
9. Bait not to be left on hooks if rods are left on the bank. This is a hazard to wildlife, particulary moorhens who will take bait left on the bank. 10. No artificial baits
Unfortunately, we cannot allow under 18’s to fish unaccompanied.
Additional Rules for Heron LakeMaximum size 6 Hooks
Site nets and cradles only.
Children 15yrs and under are not allowed to fish on Heron
Young people 16-17yrs must be accompanied by an experienced, competant adult when fishing on Heron.
We reserve the right to check rigs and tackle being used. Anybody not abiding with our fishing rules will not be allowed to fish and may be asked to leave. No refunds will be given.

Nets and unhooking mats
Only site nets and unhooking mats to be used.
We ask a £20 cash deposit, returned on return of the net and unhooking mat.
Please bring your own handle, these are not included with the net.
No keep nets, apart from matches.

Fish Care
No standing when holding fish for photos
All fish must be returned to the lake promptly
A landing net must be used for all fish, apart from the very smallest.
An unhooking mat must be used No fish to be laid straight on the ground.

Site Rules
All visitors must report to the shop on arrival for signing in
Anyone found to be taking fish or mistreating fish will be reported to the relevant authorities and will be asked to leave.
All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times
All litter to be placed in bins provided

Tackle
Barbless hooks only, max size 8.
Hook lengths must be used.
A max of 2 rods per angler.
All Line must be removed from the water when not actively fishing. Even for the shortest time.
All tackle to be removed from pegs overnight.

Bait
No trout pellet, artificial bait, eg plastic sweetcorn, or nuts allowed.
Coarse pellet can be purchased in our tackle shop.
All bait to be thrown, catapulted or cupped in.
